The
Mavis & Ephraim Hawthorne Foundation was established in 2005 by
their children, Founders of Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and Grill. Golden Krust’s commitment to the community since its inception in 1989 is indicative of
its many contributions to multiple programs and charities throughout the United
States and the islands of the
Caribbean. As the company grew into an
international institution and the needs of its loyal customer
base became more visible, the need for a more structured method to participate
and conduct services was unmistakable.
The Mavis & Ephraim Hawthorne Foundation is committed to:
- Develop a constituency to support the well being or betterment of the
community-at-large through scholarships, social services and wellness programs
and activities.
- Develop and implement programs and services.
- Influence the development, adoption and implementation of specific core
curriculum at secondary and tertiary institutions.
- Achieve economic viability that is grounded in a diversified funding base.
